This is one of our favorite playgrounds in Wuxi – Daxigang Wetland Park Kids Playground. It’s about 20-25min drive from Coastal City mall. There is parking spot just outside the entrance to the park but it is always full and we end up parking on the street (technically, you can’t park on the street but so many people do it anyway because you’re in China).
Once you park the car, you have to walk about 10-15min in to reach the playground. Naicha and Kele can ride their bikes along the wide path. Usually there aren’t too many people but it can get busy during the holidays so we always have to remind the kids to ride safely around people.
The playground it pretty big with different sections for kids to play. There are swings, climbing areas, trampolines, seesaws, jungle gyms, sand area, skate park and slides. Kids could spend hours here playing. Best bring a picnic mat with some snacks and let kids play while you relax.
Naicha and Kele’s favorite thing to do at this playground is the mini trampoline. You will be surprised that most kids will happy to line up and take turns. Occasionally there are some kids who just cut in line, but most parents make sure their kids learn to wait and let others have turn as well.
For those who want to visit the playground, my recommendation is to go in the morning as it is much quieter with less people. You can play for few hours in the morning and then on your way back you can grab some coffee and brunch/lunch at a cafe near the entrance of the park. They have some great pizza, snacks and drinks. Kids love the orange and carrot juice. When you order fries for the kids, make sure you ask not to add any seasoning, kids find it too salty and spicy, instead ask for some tomato sauce on the side.
